Reframing Israel was developed by Rabbi Laurie Zimmerman of Congregation Shaarei Shamayim in Madison, Wisconsin.
Reframing Israel is based on the belief that if young people are given the tools to engage thoughtfully and critically on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict they can develop their unique voices, challenge assumptions and biases within their communities, and become activists for peace and justice. It seeks to cultivate the next generation of Jews who are committed to a fair and just resolution to the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. To that end it encourages young Jews to learn both Jewish and Palestinian narratives.
